6. Seeds have been developed with better yield and fighting capability.

8. India became self - sufficient in food and India was in a position to pay back all loans it had taken from the World Bank for the purpose of Green revolution.
Negative:
1. Green revolution widened the gap between poor and small farmers and rich landlords.
2. It led polarisation between classes and regions. Punjab,Haryana and western UP became agriculturally prosperous, while other regions remained backward.
3. Particular wheat and rice were largely grown which alienated other crops.
4. Degradation of land.
5. Weeds have increased.
6. Pest inflation has gone up.
7. Loss of bio chemicals and fertilizers in water led water pollution.
8. Water table has gone down which led scarcity of water later.
