Positive-

1) Politics gives many disadvantaged community the space to demand their share of power

2) It helped people from Dalits and OBC caste to gain better access to decision making

Negative -

1)It disrupts social harmony

2)It can divert attention from other pressing issues like poverty, corruption ,etc.

Positive aspect : caste in politics helps in highlighting the issues of disadvantaged classes and also allows the govt. To attend to these.

Negative aspect : exclusive attention to caste and drive the attention from the pressing issues like poverty , corruption, development . It can also cause violence at times.
