⭐ DALTON'S ATOMIC THEORIES ⭐

✔ Matter consists of very small and indivisible particles called atoms.
✔ Atoms can neither be created nor be destroyed.
✔ Atoms of same elements are alike in all respects but they differ from atoms of other elements.
✔ Atoms of an element combine in small numbers to form molecules.
✔ Atoms of an element also take part in a chemical reaction.

⭐ MAJOR DRAWBACKS ⭐

1) Atoms are later proved divisible to sub-atomic particles like electrons, protons and neutrons
2) Atoms can be created and destroyed by nu
clear fusion and fission.
3) The atoms of an element may not be alike in all respects, as is seen in case of isotopes.

Postulated of Dalton atomic theory are

1 atom is neither created nor destroyed.

2 atoms cannot be divided

3. All the matter is made up of small particles know as atoms

4. There are as many atoms as many elements.

5. Atoms of different element differ in size shape etc.

6. Atoms of the same element can combine in more than one ratio to form compounds.

7. The number and kind of atoms in a given compound are fixed.

Drawbacks of Dalton atomic theory are

1. He told that atoms are indivisible but under certain circumstances they can be divided into protons neutrons and electrons .

2. He told atoms of different element will have different masses but they can have same masses like isobars

3. He told that same atomic number will have same mass but they can have different masses like isotopes

hope this would help you
