How president is to country governer is to the state. For easy understanding you can say that governer is the president of the state

Governer signs the bill before it becomes law, without the consent of the governer bill can't be passed even though it is passed from both the houses of the Vidhan shaba

Governer can create and dissolve state govermets and the majority has to be proved to the governer to create state government.

The primary function of the governor is to preserve, protect and defend the constitution.

  • Executive powers related to administration, appointments and removals,
  • Legislative powers related to lawmaking and the state legislature, that is Vidhan Sabha or Vidhan Parishad,
  • Discretionary powers to be carried out according to the discretion of the governor
