1) All major appointments are made by the President. These include-Chief Justice of India, Judges of Supreme Court and High courts of the states, governors of the states, the Election Commissioner and ambassadors to other countries.

2) He is the supreme commander of the Defence Forces of India.

3) All international treaties and agreements are made in the name of the President.

4) All government activities take place in the name of the President.

5) All laws and major policy decisions take place in the name of the President.
