As an elder sibling, I know what difficulties we face because of younger siblings.
Younger siblings are like color to our monocolored world, they always keep the house busy with their fun activities. They never fail to cheer up a hushed house. However much fun and relating they seem, elder siblings always have problems with them.
When the younger siblings are born, parents tend to look after them more than us, that is because they are still babies and don't know anything yet, that accepted, but they always will be the 'less responsible' one, no matter what. Although the parents say 'We give both of you equal importance', and they do try their best to, the elder ones are always blamed for the faults caused by them.
Youngers claim everything that's ours to be theirs, and everything that is theirs, does not belong to them, which is pretty cruel for them to do, but as 'an elder one, we always have to understand and compromise'.
People always expect much out of the elder child and compare them to the younger ones. 'If he/she can do that, why not you? You are the elder one, but still'.
But the worst part about being elder is watching your younger sibling grow up, and then slowly part away with you, which hurts parents the most, but all the fun times you had pranking each other, how your younger sibling would always look up to you for anything, how they'd wail when you decide to attend a party without them, all that would fade away.
I'd say that no matter what, even though younger siblings ar annoying, they are one of the best things in your life. They are someone who makes you feel that you're needed, from doing that 2+2 addition to teaching how to handle a home, you are always something essential in their life, and they are the vigor and confidence generators for you. Always value time with your family, and love them till the end : )
