Answer:

The reaction is also known as photolysis in which the water molecule is broken down to hydrogen, oxygen and electrons in presence of light and grana. The end product, hygrogen is picked up by NADP(Nicotinamine Adenine Dinucleotide Phosphate) to form NADPH.

Dear Student,

◆ Light reactions -

  • Steps in photosynthesis which takes place in presence of sunlight are called light reactions.
  • They are - photoexcitation, electron transport and photophosphorylation.

# Substrates used -

  • Water
  • Sunlight

# Products formed -

  • Oxygen
  • ATP
  • NADPH

# Fate of products -

  • NADPH is used as chemical energy source in dark reactions.
  • ATP also helps in Calvin cycle.
  • Oxygen is waste product for plants and is released through transpiration.

Thanks dear. Hope this is helpful...
