1)If a number ends in 2, 3, 7 and 8 then the given number is not a perfect square.Eg. 48, 123, 82, 37 are not perfect squares.

2) If a number ends in odd number of zeros, then it is not a perfect square number.eg. 90, 4000, 250 are not perfect squares.

3)If a number ends with one zero, then the square number ends with 2 zeros.Eg.10*10= 100

4)If a number ends with 1 or 9, its square number ends with 1. Eg.1*1=1, 9*9=81.

5) If a number ends with 2 or 8, its square ends with 4.eg: 12*12=144, 8*8=64.

6) If a number ends with 3 or 7, its square ends with 9 .eg: 7*7=49, 23*23=529

7) If a number ends with 4 or 6, its square ends with 6.eg: 4*4=16,6*6=36

8) Square of even numbers is always even.eg: 2*2=4

9) Square of odd numbers is always odd.eg: 9*9=81.

10) If a number has 5 in the unit's place,then its square ends in 5.eg: 5*5=25.
