H e y a ! ! !

→ We all know that earthquakes cannot be prevented. Hence, it is necessary to take certain precautions to minimise the extent of damage caused by it.

♦ Construction of building should be done under the proper guidance of a qualified architect or engineer mainly in earthquake-prone regions.

♦ The construction should be done with light materials like mud or timber in these areas. The roof should also made as light as possible.

♦ All hanging objects like clocks, ceiling fan, photoframes and water heaters should be secured firmly so that they do not fall during an earthquake.

♦ All buildings should be safeguarded against fire breakouts during earthquakes. Hence, they should have fire fighting equipment in working condition.

♦ All cracks in the walls or ceilings should be repaired.
