HERE IS YOUR ANSWER ⤵

To meet the growing nationalist demands, the British passed the government of India act of 1935. According to this act, India would become a federation, if 50% of Indian states decided to join it. However, the provisions with regard to federation were never implemented. It increased provincial autonomy by allowing the provincial subjects. This act was rejected by the congress.
