Answer:

Purvanchal is the eastern most extension of Himalayas in Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, and eastern Assam states.

They are sometimes also considered as parallel ranges of Himalayas and termed as fourth parallel range of Himalayas.

The Purvanchal Mountains are composed largely of strong sandstone geological formations.

They have thick forest cover and intense flora and fauna.

The Patkai, Mishmi, Naga, Manipur, Tripura, and Mizo hills that run through this region are referred to collectively as Purvachal (purva, “east,” and achal, “mountain”).
