Answer:

The forthcoming 14th three-year development plan to remain in effect from 2073-74 to 75-76 BS has set a target of attaining seven per cent economic growth rate.

The draft of the plan was endorsed by the two-day meeting of National Development Council that kicked off Sunday. The meeting suggested that creation of employment opportunities with the distribution of development plans as per the principle of social justice should be the priority of the 14th three-year development plan.

Addressing the concluding session of the meeting, National Planning Commission Vice Chair Dr Yubraj Khatiwada said some of the targets incorporated by the 13th development plan remained unmet due to political transition, earthquake, border blockade and power outage in the country, pledging the meaningful implementation of the 14th plan.

The final draft of the plan will be unveiled within the next 15 days after incorporating the meeting feedbacks regarding the draft, as shared by Khatiwada.

On the occasion, Minister for Home Shakti Bahadur Basnet underlined the need of institutionalizing achievements of the constitution through economic and social transformation.
