Food pyramid also says that producers are more in numbers but not consumers because it is nature which balances whole world.

Nature decides everything such that even food chain is also controlled in it.

Answer:

The correct answer would be "loss of energy at each trophic level".

In any food chain, a great amount of energy is lost as we move from primary producer to the highest consumer. It is because most of the energy present at one trophic level is lost as a result of cellular respiration and as little as 10% is passed on to the next trophic level.

Decreased energy levels at higher trophic level can complement the survival of less number of organisms as compared to the lower trophic level.

Thus, the number of organisms decreases as we move from producers to the consumers in a food chain.
