main reasons are as follows .
1 due to minimg ground water get contaminated.
2. due to over use of water the level of ground water falls down .
3. due to over construction of building , roads
rain water does not get the way to enter the ground thus, ground water remains un charge.

Two causes which led to the failure of sustaining the availability of underground water are:
(i) Population: With the increase in population the demand of water is also increasing which is depleting the underground water.
(ii) Industrialization: As the industries need more water to manufacture its goods; this led to decrease in the level of underground water.
