Required materials for electroplating are - battery or electric supply, cathode, anode and salt solution of material to be coated.

•Electroplating is the process of releasing ions from electrolytes and coating them as atoms on required material.

•A cathode is a negative terminal, which is the plate over which coating has to be done.

•An anode is a positive terminal, which releases ions.

•The salt solution usually contains the material to be coated.

•The battery provides electric current to convert atoms, molecules into ions.

•Gold, copper and silver coating of pieces of jewellery and keys are a few examples of electroplating
