Step-by-step explanation:

2 \times 2 + 6 =  - 7x \\ 4 + 6 =  - 7x \\ 10 =  - 7x \\  - 7x = 10 \\ x =   - \frac{10}{7}  \\  = 1  \frac{3}{7}
