What are the rules to convert singular noun into plural noun?

Generally plural words end with "s" or "ies".Not necessary the rules are applicable for all word because there are certain unique exampl3s too..
1] Singular Number : This form of noun indicates that the given thing or person is one .
2] Plural Number : This form of noun indicates that the given things or persons are more than one .
Г Rules of Changing Singular into Plural :
1] Normally “s” is added in the end of singular nouns to make them plural
example – : Boy – Boys , Girl – Girls
2] Generally “es” is added after singular nouns which end with s, ss, ch, sh, z, x to make them plural
example - : Box – Boxes , Bush – Bushes
3] “S” is added after such nouns which ends with ‘y’ and if there is any vowel before ‘y’
example -: Boy – Boys , Monkey – Monkeys
4] When there is ‘y’ in the end of a singular noun and any consonant before ‘y’ then ‘y’ is replaced by I’ and ‘es’ is added to make plural nouns .
example -: Baby – babies , City – cities
5] The end letters 'f' or 'fe' are replaced by 'ves' while forming plural
Example -: Calf - calves , knife - knives
[There are some exceptions when 'f' or 'fe' are not replaced and only 's' is added after them .]
example - chief - chiefs etc
6] The singular nouns having 'o' in their end take up 'es' in their end to form plural forms .
example - hero - heroes , tomato - tomatoes
7] Some Singular nouns are made plural by simply changing the vowels present in them .
example : - man - men , tooth - teeth
8] Some words are made plural by adding 'en' or 'ren' in their singular forms
example :- ox - oxen , child - children
9] Compound noun are made plural generally by making last word plural
