Answer:

**The rules for rounding off digits are:

1. If a digit after decimal is less than 5, then any increase in its previous digit is neglected.

2. If a digit after decimal is more than 5, then the digit prior to it is increased by 1 unit.

3. If a digit after decimal is equal to 5, we may either increase its previous digit by 1 or not depending of it being odd or even.

  • If even, any such increase is neglected.
  • If odd, the digit pripr to 5 is increased.

Certain rules are applied to round off the measurements.

\bold{\boxed{\pink{Rule\:1}}}

If the number lying to the right of digit to be rounded off is less than 5, then the digit to be rounded is increased by 1

Example- if x=6.23 then it's rounded off to x=6.2

\bold{\boxed{\blue{Rule\:2}}}

If the digit to be rounded is simply 5 then it's preceding digit is left unchanged if it's even

Example- if x=6.25 then it becomes x=6.2

\underline{\boxed{\blue{Rule\:3}}}

If the digit to be rounded is 5 then 1 is added if it's odd

Example - if x=6.35 then it becomes x=6.4
