Delhi Sultanate was ruled by a number of dynasties at different times, like Mamluk, Khilji, Tughlag, Sayyid and finally Lodhi, whereas Mughal Empire was ruled by a single Dynasty. ...Mughals made major use ofalliance based strategies in contrast to Sultans. Viz- Akbar incorporated Rajputs into mughalgovernance.

1) Both Delhi Sultanet and Mughal empire we established by foreign invadors.Sahabuddin Muhammad Gauri's attack established Delhi Sultanet and Babur established Mughal empire.

2) Both empire used Islam as a force behind their political interest. Both claimed as a spreader and defender of Islam but in reality both used Islam for their interests.

3) Emperors of both empire claimed that their aim is to establish a Islamic state in India but emperors of both empire attacked on mohhmaden rulers (they were also muslims!) For their political interests.

4) Both empire were established in basis of militry power without goodwill of their public.

5) Both empire were religiously biased against Hindu public. And most of ruler(except some good ruler) encroached religious rights of Hindu public and imposed hateful Jajiyah tax ( a tax which was paid by a person just because he was a Hindu).

6) Both empire destroyed due to foreign invasions and their inner conflict. Delhi Sultanet clauses due to the attacks of Taimur in 1398 and many attacks ofBabur . Mughal empire collapsed due to Auranjeb's policies and attacks ofNadirshah and Ahmedshah abdali.

7) Emperor of both empire accepted Khalifa as their leader. (Only Muhammad bin toughlaq in his early days of rule didn't accepted khalifa as his leader but later he also accepted him as leader.

8) Largest expansion of both empire were approximately same. We see the largest expansion of Delhi sultenat in the reign of Alauddin khilzi and that of Mughal empire in the reign of Aurangzeb.
