➡ HYDROCARBONS ARE ORGANIC COMPOUNDS WHICH ARE MAINLY MADE UP OF CARBON AND HYDROGEN, i.e THEY ARE THE HYDRIDES OF CARBON IN WHICH EACH CARBON ATOMS SHOWS AND MAINTAINS FOUR COVALENCY .
➡OTHER ORGANIC COMPOUNDS ARE DERIVED FROM HYDROCARBONS BY REPLACEMENT OF ONE OR MORE HYDROGENS OF HYDROCARBON BY OTHER ATOMS OR GROUPS OF ATOMS.
