the special features of red soil:

i. It has got it's name from its color

ii.It is porous and has high percentage of iron and oxide.

iii.It is shallow and it's pH value ranges from 6.6 to 8.0.

iv.It is loose and aerated and is poor in terms of nitrogen,phosphorus,potassium,and organic matter.

v.It is not fertile but it does respond to fertilisers.

vi.It contains soluble salts in small quantities.
