there were many schemes being created for them, for employment, schools,higher studies, in such rules there was a case named India Sawhney case.it is there in the 9 th NCERT economic book

The steps taken by government to uplift the economically weaker and socially backward sections of the society.

The reservation for the SCs and STs was signified in the Indian Constitution which was drafted after Independence. Later Janata Dal Government on August 7, 1990, announced reservation for Other Backward Castes (OBC) also.

Article 46 includes a very important directive concerning the progression of educa­tional and commercial concerns of other weaker sections and preserve them from cultural prejudice and all forms of exploi­tation.

The NBCFDC was established up by the Government of India under  Ministry of Welfare on 13 January 1992 as a non-profitable organization with the purpose of granting concessional finance to the of backward classes living below the poverty line.
