☆ Steps for obtaining wool fibre from sheep ☆
For getting the wool from sheep, the fleece of sheep is cut off and wool fibre are obtained. This process is known as shearing. This fibre of wool is then cleaned up. The cleaning is done with the help of some mild detergent and some chemicals. This process is called scouring. Then, this wool is transported to mills where it is spun to make yarn. The quality of wool is mostly decided on the basis of its diameter. That's why, 'Merino wool' is the finest wool.
