There are smaller projections on a villius called microvilli. These microvilli absorbs the nutrients increases surface area for absorption. Then, the blood vessels carry those nutrients throughout our body. There is also a lymph vessel in a villius which are the body's drainage system - extra nutrients (fats, specially), are carried away in these.
