All the respiratory organs have large surface area to transport/exchange enough oxygen.
All the respiratory organs have thin walls for easy diffusion and exchange of respiratory gases.
All the respiratory organs such as skin, gills and lungs, have a rich blood supply for transporting respiratory gases.

All respiratory organs will have :-
1)provision for increased surace area for exchange of gases
2) they will be deeply seated in the body because the surface through which exchange of gases takes place is delicate, fine and only few cells thick and requires protection
3)pipe like structues which connect the organ to the external environment.
