1st. liquid state particle car quite tightly packed
2. vapour state it's a gaseous state particles are lossly packed
3. ice it is a solid state particle are tightly packed
they are interchangeable because the liquid state can be change into gas or gas can be change into liquid or liquid can be changed in solid state

Three states of water are - solid (ice),liquid (water),gas(steam and water vapour).
They are intercheables as we heat water it will change into gas and if we freeze water it will change into ice.
