Hinge/Modified Hinge - An example of a hinge join is your elbow. An example of a modified hinge is your jaw joint or your knee.
Pivot - The type of joint found between your atlas and axis bones that allows your head to swivel.
Ball and Socket - Probably the best known joint because of its distinctive shape. Examples are your shoulder and hip joints.
There are plenty of other kinds of joints as well such as saddle (thumb), condyloid (between phalanges and metacarpals), and sliding (vertebrae and carpals).
