Plastids are found only in plant cells. These organelles are found in different shapes - oval, spherical and disc-shaped. They are classified into leucoplasts, chromoplasts and chloroplasts.

Leucoplasts (white) - are colourless with no pigment. They store starch. Eg: cells of a potato have leucoplasts in them.

Chromoplasts - There are various colours  - yellow, orange and red. They are present in petals of flowers and in fruit.

Chloroplasts(green) - They are green coloured plastids. The green pigment is called chlorophyll. They have DNA and have the capacity to divide.
