- There can be 1 or more theca. Theca are present adjacent to each other, connected by a tissue called connective. Pair of microsporangia can be found in theca. Microsporangia produces the microspores which are later known as pollen grains.
- There are various types of Anther-
- Monothecal- 1 theca with 2 microsporangia
- Dithecal- It is classic type of anther, which have 2 thecae with 4 microsporangia.
- Pollinium- It is a rare form of dithecal anther in which all the pollen grains of adjacent thecae are fused together in a 1 single mass.
