Catenation : the property of carbon that allows it to form bonds with other atoms of carbon. These compounds may have long chains of carbon , branched chains of carbon or carbon atoms arranged in the form of ring.


Tetra valency : The property of carbon that makes it capable of bonding with four other atoms of carbon or atoms of other mono-Valent elements since it has a valency of four .
