The two types of movements made by planets are as follows:

(i) Rotation- Rotation is a phenomenon by which planets rotate over their own axis at a uniform speed. Rotation by Earth causes day and night due to the differences in the area of the Earth facing the Sun at different times.

(ii) Revolution- Revolution is the phenomenon by which planets revolve around the Sun over defined orbits. Revolution of the Earth causes differences in seasons due to difference in positions of the Earth in respect to its distance from the Sun.
