What are the types of protective tissues? name them and explain there features?

the epidermis is the main protective layer in animals and plants
epidermis on outer layer is mainly have only few layers it helps from mechanical strains and microbes and mainly other fluids from getting in
inner organs are mainly covered by more thick epidermal cells and may containing mucus coating to protect from acid inside stomach

  → Epidermis

  →  Cork

Epidermis

  • Single layer , tightly packed cells
  • Complex tissue - Does different things in different areas (roots vs leaves)
  • Usually transparent
  • secretes cuticle

Periderm

  • Replaces epidermis in woody plants
  • Protection

Cork

  • A component of bark made up of dead cells that may be sloughed off.
  • New cork cells are made by meristem called  cork cambium
