What are the uses of insulators of heat
Answers
Heat insulators prevent movement of heat from the surface of a radiant material. Insulators help protect against any harm that may come as a result of the heat. That is why we use insulated material to hold the pots and pans in the kitchen. Insulation also helps maintain the heat within a system. Because heat cannot pass through the insulator, heat cannot be lost by conduction or convection. This is called lagging (i.e. covering a hot object with an insulator to prevent heat loss to the environment). That is why we put on a coat made of fur or cotton when it is cold outside. The fur itself is a bad conductor of heat and it traps air within itself. The air is also acts as an insulating material and helps to keep the heat produced by your body close to your skin and keep you warm.
