1. ATM, credit and debit cards have a magnetic strip that that stores information and enable transaction of money.

2. Magnetic recording devices such as VHS, audio cassettes, computer, floppy disks and hard disk have magnets for recording data.

3. Powerful magnets are treated in motors, generator and loudspeakers. These are also fitted in fridge doors, almirahs, etc.

4. The magnet are used in scrapyards to separate iron and steel from other waste materials.

6. A magnetic compass is an instrument that uses a magnet to find directions. It is also called the mariners compass. It has a small magnetic needle at its centre. It rotates freely and always points to the north south directions . The pointing to the north direction is generally painted red to distinguish it from south . Different directions are marked on the compass.

7. Maglev aur magnetic levitation trains have been developed in America. These trains are without wheels and move a little above the rails. The trains are pulled by the magnetic force that acts on the rails.
