: 1. Uses in Building and Construction: • Plaster Cornices – POP is precast to hold ornamental plaster work for decoration in eaves and above doorways and in windows. • Fibrous Plaster – Glass fibers or natural fibers are added to increase strength. It is cast in mouldings and used in slabs, ceiling boards or false ceiling and for partition boards. • Plaster boards – A layer of plaster is sandwiched between two cardboard layers and then set to harden, the result is used as decoration and for separation. • Plaster mouldings – POP while drying has less chances of shrinkage and cracks, hence it is used to make mouldings in construction and also in ceramic industry.

It is commonly used to precast and hold parts of ornamental plasterwork placed on ceilings and cornices. It is also used in medicine to make plaster casts to immobilize broken bones while they heal, though many modern orthopedic casts are made of fibreglass or thermoplastics.

Hope it helps
