the ways of exercising self control :-
1) mediate : relax yourself and learn to concentrate for at least 30 minutes
2) drink water : when you become too much angry drink water.
3) when you lose control on yourself try to do small exercise like a quick walk .
4) list the things you want to put effort to bring self control . then accordingly work to control yourself in various situation.
5) think twice before taking any action
6) council your brain towards positive thoughts . encourage yourself that there is nothing you can't do .

heya , you explain the same problem which I was facing a few years back . I am mentioning few points which will help you in self control.
⭐ Try to do whatever you want to do . Let it be anything.
⭐ Never try to control your thoughts. Whatever you are thinking is absolutely normal .
⭐ Daily at least for 30 minutes go for physical activities and start with very small steps like a leisurely walk.
⭐ Try to meditate , yoga, pranayama.
⭐ call your old friends and talk to them .
⭐ Start doing new things , like learning a new language, musical instruments.
⭐ ⭐ USE if then PLAN , WHEN YOU ARE DEVELOPING SELF CONTROL, YOU NEED TO TRAIN YOURSELF TO DELAY INSTANT GRATIFICATION.
