The landforms that are formed because of the processes of erosion or deposition are known as third order landforms. The first and second order landforms are formed because of the tectonic movements.

Third order landforms generally form over the second order landforms. The examples of third order landforms include deltas, lakes, volcanoes, peaks, gorges, cols, cirques, etc. The third order landforms are formed because of the actions of forces like water, air, etc.
