55
Let that numbers be X and Y
then by given conditions
x+y=58
×-y=28
let us cross multiply it
28×(x+y)=58×(x-y)
28x+28y=58x- 58y
now let us transform it
28x-58x=-58y- 28y
-30x=-86y
30x=86y
x/y=86/30
x/y=43/15
so two numbers are 43 and 15......:)
hope it helps!!!!

gigamind: finally you got the answer fine. but we should use only one variable not X and Y. is it possible to solve by using one variable
Rulebreaker1: pls mark as brainlist if possible
Rulebreaker1: ya I try to do it in one variable
gigamind: just i search in brain list but your name wasn't appear...i will try when i free

Answer:

first number is 48 and

second number is 15

Step-by-step explanation:

Let that numbers be X and Y

then by given conditions

x+y=58

×-y=28

let us cross multiply it

28×(x+y)=58×(x-y)

28x+28y=58x- 58y

now let us transform it

28x-58x=-58y- 28y

-30x=-86y

30x=86y

x/y=86/30

x/y=48/15

so two numbers are 48 and 15
