What are three key considerations when evaluating keywords for search engine optimisation?

When I am evaluating keywords for SEO, here are my 3 considerations:
1)Content Goals: What are the goals I have listed for the brand in my content strategy? Who is my target audience? Do I want to educate, inform, or entertain my audience? And similar questions yield a wide variety of keywords for the brand. I start with searching online on the brand name itself, look at the brand-related questions (if any), and finally spy on the competition to define a list of potential keywords to support the content goals.
2)Search Intent: Using a combination of tools like SEMRush, BuzzSumo, Google Search, etc. I try to see how my target audience is using those potential keywords I collected in the earlier step. This is where long-tail keywords come up, and reduces my list of potential keywords to a list of possible keywords.
3)Keyword Performance: Google Keyword Planner gives me the performance of each of the keywords in the earlier step. I target the ones with medium or low competition to rank higher in the long run. The final list of keywords I get after this step is the list of focus keywords I will be using in my content marketing.
hope it helps you a lot.
thank you very much
