The earth is separated into layers because of gravity,pressure and density
THE SUBDIVISIONS OF THE LAYERS OF EARTH:
1.)CORE:---------------metallic, made of iron & nickel
a.) inner core----------------solid---------nickel and iron, solid due to extreme pressure
b) outer core.--------------liquid--------molten nickel and iron


2.)MANTLE:------------------semi-solid rock

a. Lower mantle--------------Hot, semi-solid rock
 b. Upper mantle
           1.)Asthenosphere---------semi-solid
            2.)Uppermost part--------solid 

3.CRUST:---------------------------------rigid, brittle, & thin layer of rock
   a. Oceanic crust
   b. Continental crust

2>Mantle

1> CORE :-
→It is the center part of the earth made up of metallic elements  i.e iron & nickel.
→It is divided into two parts i.e Solid core (Inner part) and liquid core (outer part)
i>Solid core - 
Temperature = 5500 to 7000° C
Made of  nickel and iron .
1,250 km thick
ii> Liquid core -
Temperature = 6100 to 4400° C
Made of  molten nickel and iron
2,200 km thick liquid

2> MANTLE-
→It is middle part of eath made up of semi-solid rock.
→It is divided into two parts Lower mantle and  Upper mantle
i>Lower mantle-
made of semi-solid rock
2100 km thick
Consistency of hot asphalt
ii>Upper mantle -
Made of Asthenosphere and upper part of mantle
800 km thick

3>CRUST -
→It is made of  rigid , brittle and rocks .
→It is made of two parts -
i>Oceanic crust
0-10 km thick
 2/3 of the Earth's surface
made of  of dense basalt 
ii>Continental crust
35-70 km thick
Made of less dense granite
covers 1/3 of Earth's surface...
