The three adaptations are as follows :

1) Innovation

People accept societal goals but use new ways of reaching that goal. For example some people would not work hard for the rest of their lives and would look for simpler ways to achieve their goals.

2) Ritualism

People reject the goal but still observe the means of reaching this goal. For example one would still do his or her best at work despite the fact that they know that they would never be promoted.

3) Retreatism

In this case people reject the goal and also the means of reaching the goal. For example teens would say they do what they want.

The Merton model is known after a very well known economist namely Robert C Merton.

And the model talks about easier methods of valuation of a company and also talks about the methods that how a company can easily become more solvent and clear off its due loans and debts.
