what are three types of democracy explain
Answers
Answer:
Different types of democracies
- Direct democracy.
- Representative democracy.
- Constitutional democracy.
- Monitory democracy.
there are direct democracies. The only direct democracies I can think of were city states like ancient Athens and some city states during the Reformation/Renaissance periods. Citizens were responsible for directly vote on matters of state. Speeches made in government forums were often made to sway other citizens into voting the same way.
There are many representative democracies like in Canada where people vote for a member of parliament or legislature. People vote for them usually based on their campaign platform and that person is said to represent them in the government. However, more often than not, those politicians are often forced to tow the party line or they are bought out by special interest groups or lobbyists who are usually funded by corporations. Sometimes both are the case as the parties are funded by large corporations or unions.
Democracies are often called the tyranny of the majority. Usually, the minority controls most forms of media and education to ensure they get their majority to agree and vote accordingly.
