Answer:

transition elements are those elements which have incompletely filled d-orbitals in its ground state or anyone of its common oxidation state.

1.)they exhibit all the property of metals like-

2.)having high melting and boiling point.

3.)have high enthalpy of stimulation, and heat of vaporisation.

4.)good conductor of heat.

5.)good conductor of electricity.

6.)all transition elements have metallic structure except mercury which is liquid at room temperature.

7.)they have tendency to form complexes.

8.)they form interstitial compounds.

9.)they form coloured compounds.

10.)they are generally paramagnetic in nature.

11.)they have high densities.

12.)they show magnetic properties.

13.)transition metals and most of their compounds acts as good catalyst.

14.)transition metals form alloys. 15.)transition elements have high entahlpies of ionisation.

16.)these are electropositive in nature.

17.)they show variable oxidation state.

18.)for example-sc, ti, etc.

3d, 4d, 5d,6d series are the transition elements.

19.)except zinc, cadmium, mercury.these are not regarded as transition elements because they have completely filled d-configuration in its ground state as well as in the common oxidation state.
