\text {(Both the terms are related to plant cell.)}

  • Turgidity refers to the condition of swelling due to the presence of excess fluid.
  • Turgidity is the state of the plant containing more than required water in the fluid form.
  • A plant which is said to be turgid recieves the excess water through the process known as Osmosis.
  • Turgidity helps the plant to stand still in fixed position.

\color{Red}\star\:\tt\ {Flaccidity :-}

  • When the cell of plant is kept immersed in a hypertonic solution, there is loss of fluid content or water and it also results in the drifting away of protoplasm from the cell wall. This action results in the creation of a gap between cell membrane and cell wall , and eventually the plant becomes flaccid in state. This process is referred as Flaccidity.
  • This process, sometimes is also called loss of turgidity.
