Oxygen, temperature, chemical salts are the condition which promotes corrosion.

Explanation:

Corrosion is permanent injury or degradation of living tissue or substance due to chemical or electro-chemical reactions. The rusting of iron or steel is a prime indicator in corrosion.

  • The sources of corrosion are numerous. Which are: atmospheric oxygen, temperature, chemical salts, noise, soil moisture etc.
  • Presence of an electrolyte -  Presence of a substance that conducts electricity and thus enables electrons to move and causes metal oxidation resulting in corrosion.
  • Temperature - Temperature hastens just about every chemical reaction as corrosion is exactly a chemical reaction. The higher the temperature, the quicker the corrosion.
