The two types of oligarchies are democracy and communism.  

Democracy is referred to as "rule of the majority" because it is a system in which the citizens are given the right to elect representatives from among themselves to organize a governing body say a parliament.

 

Communism is the philosophical, political, social and economic ideology and movement whose primary goal is to establish a communist society. The idea is to replace private property and a profit-based economy with public ownership and also to have control over major source of production like mines and industries.
