Explanation:
Basically, plastids can be classified into three types on the basis of pigments- chloroplasts, chromoplasts and leucoplasts.
1. Chloroplasts are the types of plastids in plant cells which contain chlorophyll and other photosynthetic pigments that help the plant in making its own food through photosynthesis.
2. Chromoplast- Chromoplasts are coloured plastids, containing coloured pigments like carotene (orange), xanthophylls (yellow) etc. These pigments are responsible for the colour of plants.
3. Leucoplast:- These are white or colourless plastids and do not contain any pigment. The leucoplasts store starch and other storage products.
