Valence electrons are the electrons in the outermost energy level of an atom, in the energy level that is farthest away from the nucleus. When chemists study chemical reactions, they study the transfer or sharing of electrons.  The electrons that are more loosely held by the nucleus (the valence electrons, those furthest away from the nucleus) are the ones that are gained, lost, or shared.

the combining capacity of an element is known as its valence.
an element donate it's elections as to be stable but there are certain restrictions on it such as-
1. an element donate it's elections only when it haves more than half elections.
2. an element gain elections only when it haves less than half elections.
EX- if element have 6 elections than it will try to gain elections but it element have 3 it will donate.

Hope it helps mark me as brainliest.
