Vector, in physics, a quantity that has both magnitude and direction. It is typically represented by an arrow whose direction is the same as that of the quantity and whose length is proportional to the quantity's magnitude

Physical quantities are of two types : vectors and scalars .

Quantities which have magnitude and are measurable and gave definite direction are called vectors .

Quantities which have magnitude and don't have definite direction are called scalars .

examples

SCALARS : mass , speed etc .

VECTORS : displacement , velocity etc.
