e-Reservations which  means Electronic Reservations or Online booking has become very popular in recent times. However while it has its advantages, there are some disadvantages too

Explanation:

The disadvantages of e-reservation are

  • A computer crash can  cause a passenger's reservation and other information to just vanish
  • Typically when you book online you cannot ask questions from a live person about hotel accommodation, flight/train routes, visa criteria or something else you are concerned with. You cannot be in a position to validate specific requests while booking online.
  • Many online travel sites advertise low rates to attract your attention and then add fees and surcharges for a much less competitive deal.
  • The downside is that it gives e-citizens exclusive access. Which deprives non-e-citizens of their fair access rights. The non-e-citizens are now (usually) illiterate, ignorant, immature, elderly or impaired. They are parts of society who are weak. Access to e-services would be far more important for productivity and capacity-earning than it is for e-citizens.
